Plymouth GT-1

A hot rod like nothing that has come before. It's a glorious blend of vintage and modern with flowing carbon fiber fenders perched on a beautifully original body. The rich history of the ‘35 Plymouth and GT-1 race chassis are perfectly preserved and presented in every scratch, dent and hint of rust.

Body

A clean California car, a Plymouth five window coupe was the basis for our build. We kept the body as original as possible, only making minor modifications to the grill surround, the bottom of the doors and the deck lid. Even the original paint and patina has been preserved under gallons of BASF clear. The chrome trim and emblems are original. The radiator has been moved to the trunk where the original Plymouth hubcap has been added to call back to the original spare tire cover.

Interior

The original roof, dash, knobs, gauges and window trim are preserved while the rest of the interior is all race car. Matte finish carbon McLaren Senna seats match the custom made door panels and AiM digital dash cover. The 8-point gusseted cage is drenched in glossy Mocha paint and the floors are covered in a fine knit snap in carpet. The rear sway is adustable via a remote lever and push/pull cables. A pistol grip shifter from Jake Palm screams MOPAR and rounds out the beautiful interior.

Chassis

The front and rear suspension clips were retained from the original GT-1 race car while everything else was custom fit to the Plymouth body. This is a full tube chassis with heavy duty heim joints, big bearings and 5/8" lug studs. The roll cage is gusseted to the body throughout and the bottom of the car has a full belly pan and functional diffuser. Power is supplied by a Prefix built stroker Viper engine that makes over 800hp and 740lb/ft of torque.

  • Chassis

The all time winningest car in the Crane Cams V8 StockCar Series, the #26 GT-1 Corvette was built by Tommy Riggins and piloted by David Machavern to 30 wins and three championships (2008-10). Its chassis now forms the underpinnings of the Ruffian GT-1, complete with scratches and dents from door to door competition.

  • Power

The Viper V10 might be the coolest exotic American muscle car engine ever built and this one has been rebuilt by the pros at Prefix Race Engines. It has been stroked to 550 cubic inches (9.0L), has forged internals and made 803hp and 741 lbft of torque on pump gas.
